We have successfully held our end-of-term exhibition and film screenings!
As part of the practical courses of the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department for the fall semester, our esteemed students’ projects were showcased under the theme “Images and Meanings” during the end-of-term exhibition and film screenings.
The “Images and Meanings” event began at 9:30 AM on December 30, 2024, in the Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı Conference Hall, with opening speeches by the course instructors, Dr. Aslı Şahinkaya Ermiş, Dr. Selver Dikkol Akçay, and Dr. Ahmet Şükrü Künüçen, along with our esteemed Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Şebnem Pala Güzel, our Dean, Prof. Dr. G. Senem Gençtürk Hızal, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Özcan Yağcı. The event continued throughout the day with screenings accompanied by our faculty members, valuable students, and their loved ones.
During the event, projects produced by students in Dr. Aslı Şahinkaya Ermiş’s courses (RTS333 Short Film Production I, RTS435 Documentary Cinema, and RTS349 Principles of Editing), Dr. Selver Dikkol Akçay’s RTS323 Aesthetic Principles of Cinematic Editing course, and Dr. Ahmet Şükrü Künüçen’s RTS421 Television Production and Management course were presented to our distinguished guests. These projects included short films, documentaries, TV programs, film posters, and photography works.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our guest, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuğba Çelik Korat, for her valuable contributions to our students’ projects in the Principles of Editing course with her story “Suddenly on the Road” and for her support during the screenings. We also express our gratitude to our students for their efforts and dedication throughout the semester.
